DC8: Non-linearities as the basis for electromagnetic health monitoring of critical information and communication systems
Project: Non-linearities as the basis for electromagnetic health monitoring of critical information and communication systems (WP3)
Host institution: UGR (Spain)
Supervisor: Luis Manuel Díaz Angulo (UGR, Spain)
Co-supervisor(s): Valentín de la Rubia (UPM, Spain), Tim Claeys (KU Leuven, Belgium), Robert Kebel (Airbus DE, Germany)
Objectives:
Investigate and describe the non-linear behaviours that manifest in the emission spectrum of ICT systems when exposed to HPEM.
Conduct controlled EMI tests on representative systems with different complexities to quantify non-linearities.
Develop an advanced diagnostic tool capable of pinpointing the subsystems most affected by external interference.
Expected Results:
Comprehensive understanding of the non-linear behaviours in emission spectra, shedding light on how EMI affects ICT systems.
Quantified vulnerability profiles, providing insights into how different systems respond to external interference.
Planned secondment(s):
Academic secondment: KU Leuven, Tim Claeys, M24-M26, 2M, Monitoring of communication signals in ICT systems in HPEM environments.
Industrial secondment: Airbus DE, Robert Kebel, M29-M32, 3M, Experimental verification of non-linear behaviors of various aircraft digital information and communication (ICT) systems in HPEM environments
Enrolment in Doctoral degree: UGR (Spain).
Salary: 37240 EUR / Year
Recruited researchers can be of any nationality and must comply with the following mobility rule: they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their recruitment date.
All researchers recruited in a DN must be doctoral candidates (i.e. not already in possession of a doctoral degree at the date of the recruitment) and undertake transnational mobility (see the mobility rule definition in section 1). Researchers who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis but who have not yet formally been awarded the doctoral degree will not be considered eligible.
