European Commission's Blue Book Traineeship Programme: Registration Opens on 17 February
The European Commission announces the opening of registrations for its prestigious Blue Book Traineeship programme, a five-month paid internship that offers young graduates from around the world the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in EU policymaking and administration.
The programme provides trainees with the chance to work in a multicultural environment, develop valuable professional skills, and gain an in-depth understanding of how EU institutions operate.
Registration Details: The registration period for the October 2025 session will open on 17 February 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (Brussels time) and close on 17 March 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (Brussels time).
To apply for the Blue Book Traineeship, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- Education: Applicants must have completed a standard 3-year higher education degree (minimum EQF 6 level), equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree or higher. You will need to provide diplomas or certificates confirming your qualifications.
- Work Experience: Applicants should not have more than 6 weeks of prior work experience in any EU institution, body, agency, or with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) or Advocates General at the Court of Justice of the European Union (EUCJ).
- Language Skills:
- Administrative Traineeship: You must have a very good knowledge of two EU official languages. One must be a working language (English, French, or German) at C1 or C2 level, and the second language must be at least B2 level.
- Translation Traineeship: Applicants must be able to translate into their native language from two other official EU languages. One of the source languages must be a working language (English, French, or German) at C1 or C2 level, and the second source language should be at least B2 level.
