Position Call (Marie Curie Fellowship Application)
The Melanoma Biomedical Research and Mouse Model and Cancer Laboratory at VHIR is currently seeking a candidate to apply for Marie Curie Fellowships. We offer advanced, interdisciplinary training in the field of cancer and tumor biology, and a lively and international educational atmosphere, with excellent state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and competitive fellowships. Our research is focused in translational investigations in melanoma and other skin cancers. We combine conventional and state of the art technologies (–omic tools) together with animal models and primary human tumor samples (PDX), to study cancer (melanoma) development and progression. Our main interest is to translate our results into clinic.
Specifically, the candidate will be involve studying the role of certain molecules in melanoma development and progression, and in the regulation of the immune system in the tumor environment with therapeutic purposes. Further information will be released to the interested candidates.
Who can Apply?
Applicants must meet the requirements of EU Marie Curie fellowships/ studentships. Researchers must not have carried out their main activities in the country where they will perform their studies for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the start of the fellowship. A researcher can only be employed in the country of his/her own nationality if he/she has spent more than four of the five years prior to his/her appointment in a non-EU country, or if he/she has been active in an international organization.
Experienced Researchers must hold a PhD or have at least four years of research experience (full-time equivalent) since gaining a university qualification.
